Floor tiles

Lot's of things are happening these days! First, the floor tiles are in, the ladder for the roof is installed and the balcony railing is in, too.

For the first time we can see the whole house freely!Wonderful.....we are nearing completion!

Meanwhile the first floor tiles are in too! Maybe they can finish the tiles by tomorrow!

Getting a "face"

Our house is getting a "face"!

While the rest of the house is painted the front is getting a tile finish!So, yesterday the started the work! The house looks very modest!In a few days we will hopefully see more!Here are the first pictures!

The stairs are in and they are very beautiful and simple! We used a fossilized stone, so every piece looks different! I am pleased!

The outer walls are also painted! We decided to use brown....different and beautiful! Now our house needs its "face"!!!!! We will have tiles in the front! They should do it today....but nobody was there!Maybe tomorrow, who knows!

Everything happens very fast! The house is rendered and all the borders,window sills and lintels  are "stone washed", it looks a little bit like Italian Stone Wash Plaster! Very common in Taiwan!

The first tiles are also in! The kitchen walls are ready and the 2 bathrooms are ready ,too!

And the last frame is also in!

We used outdoor tiles for our 2 bathrooms! Rather uncommon in Taiwan!

The big entrance frame is in (We will have a big sliding door)! It looks fantastic!The color is very beautiful and the door will be air-tide! We will also have a gate in front of the door! If the gate is open we'll have lots of light! One frame is still missing; the upstairs sliding door!But it's the last one....
The cement rendering is almost done!

The roof is not yet ready! Short update:Since the new house is just a 5 min ride away, I had a short look and the cement rendering for the roof is almost done!

Window frames

Yesterday they started to put the window frames in! We can't really see them clearly, they are still packed in plastic! But they seem to be nice! We chose a light gray!

It might rain the next days....We had a very heavy rain today!This will probably slow down the work!
